Iosepa!!

Friday morning Brandon came home early from class and we went to watch Iosepa come back from their journey to Molokai! They had speakers and dancers and students came and sang. It was really interesting to hear the history behind it, very cool.

Up!!!

Friday night we went to see UP!! the new Pixar movie! Brandon has been counting down the days until the next 3D movie, we saw Monster vs. Aliens in 3 D and it was fun so we decided to do it again!! Let me just say this was the cutest cartoon I have ever seen, we give it two thumbs "Up"!! A must see!

Jane on the car ride to Dole Cannery theaters, she is lovin the toys lately!!
My mom, Alicia and Mothoni rockin the old school Ray Ban 3D glasses!!
As you can clearly see Janey loved the feature Presentation as well!! Ok but seriously I kept trying to cover her with a blanket like we usually do during movies but she would not have it! She pretty much watched the whole thing, seriously!! She could not take her eyes off of it!! So cute!

Memorial Day!!

Memorial Day Was super fun and super relaxing! We went with our friends the Smiths to a super bee-utiful beach by sharks cove and set up the beach umbrella and the grill and just relaxed. Brandon and Alysha did a little snorkeling and Brandon jumped into the water and landed on the turtle, I know I was shocked as well but the turtle is fine don't worry!

Janey Maxin' and relaxin' in her cutsy swimsuit her daddy bought her (of course it looks like a flag, so very Brandon)

Brandon took Janey in the water which she more or less HATED!! I felt terrible because she was in the best of moods until she went into the cold water!!

Nick and Alysha Beachin' it up!!! Thanks for the yummy food and fun guys!!!!

May Day, May Day!!!

Disclaimer: This post may only make sense to people in Hawaii and maybe Calley Soptich, but I will do my best. To celebrate May Day all the elementary schools here put on a dance performance and all the different grades do a different dance. The kids practice for a long time for it and it is always super cute. This year I missed the Laie elementary May Day but went to the Haleiwa elementary May day since my sis Alicia works in a special education class there. The school is really really small, I had no idea but it was still super cute. Loved it.
This is Alicia hula dancing with the other faculty members, if you are unsure which on she is, she would be the white one.
This is Alicia helping the student she works with dance, or mostly just trying to get him to stand up. So cute.
This is the head start preschool doing their jig, the second boy on the right was a riot. His Lava Lava kept falling down so one of the teachers came to help him pull it up so his diaper wouldn't show then people started to laugh and the boy was just eating it up and decided to just pull it off completely and was just dancing in his diaper. A real crowd pleaser, Hilarious really.
Janey-Jane loved it too!! she can't wait until she can dance in May Day!! ( Since were lifers here and all).

GREAT JOB ALICIA!!!

Janey update

So I know we post alot of pictures, but don't say much. Even though a picture is worth a thousand words, so technically we have said thousands of things... here are some fun facts about our little Janey-lou:

*Has mastered the scream/ cry which I have lovingly deemed the "scry". Girlfriend has got a set of pipes on her turns out... used to be so quiet.

* Her hands are her own worst enemy, she is constantly waking herself up by smacking herself in the face and then looks at me like "how could you do that to me?"

* She likes to sleep in any of the three following places: next to mom, on dad's chest, or on dad's arm.

* She makes funny faces while she sleeps, this is how I know if she is having a good or bad dream.

* she now loves the bath and cries when we take her out

* still will only take the attractive soothie pacifier from the hospital, not the cute pink ones we got her..

* hates her carseat loves the stroller and the baby bjorn

* has never stayed awake more than 30 seconds in the baby bjorn

* has turned from her stomach to her back one time and that was only becuase she was mad and wanted off her tummy pronto

* laughs when people sing to her or at herself cooing

* is always hot, and her feet and hands are always cold ( how do I remedy that?)

* favorite stuffed animal is her pink bear (naturally) even though her father is forcing her to love her stuffed hippo

* has been to the beach three times

* prefers sitting up to lying down now

* loves her swing but only for ten minute increments

*hates fancy dresses, but loves onsies... for real she yelled her cute little redhead off when we put a dress on her today until we finally took it off....

* likes to suck on her hand, but only her left one mind you

* has been to two movies: monsters vs. aliens and Wolverine. She preferred monsters, she likes comedies.

*loves it when you manually make her kick her feet and clap her hands

*sleeps with her eyes slightly open like her father.....creepy....

I will post more as they come to mind....

Sick Day!

Janey was feeling a little under the weather today, she was up all night really congested and having a hard time breathing, so after calling Dr. Grandpa for advice we decided to just stay in and take it easy. These are pics of Jane resting up!!

Tribute to my 'Grandpapi' Pete

Recently my granpapi died due to complications from diabetes. He faught hard to stay with us as long as he could he truely loved life and lived every day to the fullest. To those who never got to know him might have dismissed him as an insignificant blue collar man working as a teamster for many years and a highschool janitor untill relatively recently when he was too frail to work. To everybody who knew him though he was a giant not only in stature but he had a big heart as well. He always had his home open to troubled teens and family members. He gave his all to the service of his extened family and community. I am gratefull for the few weeks I spent every summer at his home. He always had a way to make me laugh, whether is was telling embarissing stories about my mother's childhood or the shenanagans he would get into as a kid in NewJersey, to trying to steal all my girlfriends away from me. I remember at my wedding a couple summers back seeing him with two bridesmaids he just met sitting in his lap and everyone laughing their guts out. I remember him traveling up from Oregon to see my Dive and play baseball. I remember talking baseball, history, and guy stuff for hours at a time. The world will be different without Grandpapi Pete, we will all miss how much fun he made everything and how much love he showed everyone. We love you grandpapi Pete!! Rest in peace 'Old Man'
