When Brandon's family came to visit this last week they took us to The Lion King in Honolulu!!! I did not even know they had broadway shows that came here, but they DO!! I was so excited for weeks before!! It was amazing!! I thought it was going to be people dressed up in animals suits...boy was I off!! the costumes were amazing, people walking on stilts on both hands and fet!! the animals looked amazing. Thanks again mom and dad Frandsen for taking us, it is the coolest thing we have done in a long time, except for getting married.....

The winds of change are blowing...

as most of you know I work with a six year old girl with special needs at school.... I have ben doing this job since last december, almost a year now!! It i s a good job because it is 5 minutes away, and I am home by 2:30. Unfortunately, I was notified about a month ago that they will be switching schools shortly, not just in the next town... but all the way in Honolulu. Since there is no way I am willing to commute that far again, I started looking for a new job....I actually found two opportunities, one was a case manager position with DOH. The other was a family support worker for the Healthy start program here on the North Shore. I went with the position closer to home which is working for the healthy start program!! Basically I go and teach parenting skills to at risk families... I am pretty stoked about the opportunity to learn something new! I start the Monday affter Thanksgiving!!!

Boo!!!

Ok, so perhaps I am a little late on the Halloween post. My friend Alysha had this great Idea that we should go all together as the the flinstones.... but Brandon refused to wear a "dress" so then we tried to get them to wear togas.... and that was a no go also, even ater we bought the stuff for them.... Brandon wanted to be something and I qoute "manly and scary" so last minute (literally 15 minutes before the party) brandon wrapped himself in toilet paper, and called himself a mummy, but it kept ripping, and then it started to rain... so he covered it in saran wrap... needless to say he ripped the thing off like 15 minutes later becuase he was roasting in it... oh well! it was a fun night, we went to a little party and then watched a scary movie with some friends....

TAGGED...

ok, so it took me a while to notice my name on Jessica's blog, and then I got super busy for the first time in my life.... So here I go... A few random things about myself...

1.I have meal ordering anxiety- Going out to eat is a bittersweet experience for me. I always panic when it comes time to order, because at that moment it is the most important decision I will ever make. i will regret it for the rest of th day, and it will ruin my mood and leave me grumpy and unsatisfied. I have tried everything to rid me this condition, I have tried sharing with Brandon, but he ats everything, just leaving m hungry. I have tried asking the server, but what to do they know? they don't host a show on the food network, they are just servers....I have even been known to hunt down the server in the kitchen to change my mind.... it is that bad....

2. I am a "Honu Gaurdian" -Honu is Hawaiian for Turtle. It started the first time Brandon took me to Laniakea Beach to see the Turtles... It was love at first sight...They are so big (see picture atop of blog) and cute! So, the turtles come out on the shore to bask in the sun, and when they do this sometimes the tourists go crazy and do nutty things... so they have people who put ropes around them and just chill on the beach and educate tourists about them etc. it is pretty much the best volunteer gig EVER! I am hoping to really get into it soon!

3.Hi, my name is Ashley Frandsen, and I am a candy addict.- I should start a support group or something becuase it is a serious problem. I love candy, but I am very particular about my candy, I like the kinds that most people hate. I only like certian kinds, and certian combinations... let me explain... I love the fun dip, chocolate covered gummi bears, chocolate covered cookie dough, razzles, peeps.... I LOVE gummi bears, but only the green and clear ones, and I have to eat one clear and one green at the same time, or it is a no go.

4. I had over $90 dollars in rental late fees for the movie "SELENA" - I believe it was my ninth grade year... I rented Selena, I was an immediete fan.... I laughed, I cried... I refused to take it back... I watched it over and over... I watched it alone, I watched it with friends, and I cried at the end everytime.. (don't act like you did not). Then, as much as I loved it, I totally forgot it, and like over a month later, I shamefully returned it to Hollywood videos... I know what you are thinking... Selena?!?! hey, it tugs on the heartstrings...

5.Raw meat= Death - I hate touching meat... it is pretty much the most disgusting thing ever.... but ground beef takes the cake. The problem is, I LOVE hamburgers, this puts me in quite a pickle... So what I do, and it has been working out quite nicely, is I do everything else, but I make Brandon do the patty process, as I am unable to touch the patty until it is well- done.

ok, so that is all I could think of.... not as funny as some of the others I read... I have been busy get of my back... ok, so I am going to tag: Tiffani, Kristen, Maggie, Tracy and Cheme

Birthday Boy!!!

Friday was the big 2-4! for Brandon!!! So to celebrate such a special occassion, we pulled out all the stops and had a CUPCAKE EATING CONTEST!! We invited a few friends, as our apt is teeny, tiny, itty bitty... So I spent the day baking up a storm... because Brandon would not let me bake them the night before, he wanted "fresh" cupcakes.... so with the help of the alicia's squared... my sis and my friend that lives below us.. we baked 132 cupcakes... and only ended up needing like 50... oh well... you live , you learn... Unfortunately, Brandon lost... I really wanted him to win becuase I bought prizes for the winners! So, I did not feed him the whole day... oh well...so here are a few pics from the festivities!
The Goods!! (baked, that is)
This is when Brandon started worrying that
no one was going to come to his shin dig!!

Brandon doing what he does best!

I heart cupcakes!

This is Nick, he came in Second..
we made everyone count their wrappers to see who won!

Our first Halloween as a married couple

As everyone know Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I think it has something to do with eating candy and being so close to my birthday. But now that I'm married Halloween is going to be AWESOME!!!! because we're in a family ward now. Halloween is all about the kids

The things Ashley will do for a T-shirt

The idea to summit Diamond Head was spawned when Ashley saw a t-shirt at the swap-meet and immediately wanted it more than anything. However since the shirt said "I climbed Diamond Head" Ashley didn't know she was allowed to have it.In my mind I told Ashley that she could just get it anyways ,they don't even check at the register anyone can buy those. But I only said it in my mind. So we made plans for obtaining this prize possession on the day we were going into town anyways to take my roommate Sam to the Airport.

Our first attempt to summit was thwarted due to some heathen State holiday and the park was closed.

Sam was TO'ed big time!!, it had always been his wish to climb Diamond head, and I was appathetic in the winter of the sexual frustration of a long long engagement.

4months later the 2nd attempt. Conditions were just right good weather no school, there wasn't anything good on TV. Ashley said it this hike was going to be roughing it, but then we saw this Snack Truck at the trail entrance and knew she didn't know what she was talking about but we made her our expidition guide anyways.

We were so happy b'cuz this time we were married and being married is da best

Sam was sad because he's still no married so he crapped his pants to get attention but he was too ashamed to enjoy it so all he could do was cry like a baby. BOO HOO!

This is Sam's halfhearted attempt to end his life, pathetic huh?

there were lots of stairs
Ashley gets scared easily. I jumped out of a cave and she almost had an accident too.

did I mention there were stairs

and we continued up
Ashley was so exuasted

A great view of waikiki

This is when I farted, hence the face of relief and mischief

That's when Ashley relized I wasn't the only one that was stinky up there on the top of diamond head... "Where is my shirt?I WANT MY T-SHIRT not even one $#^%@ gift shop WHAT the dilly YO!"

Proof of our accomplishment the geological survey at the highest point too bad we weren't the only ones to see it there were tons of people up there including the elderly and little 6 year old girls. next time I do a travel blog about a hike we did I promise it will be more exiting than this

TRUE LOVE!

This is my favorite picture... as many you may not know I am obsessed with Gummi Bears.. I always have a bag in purse at all times in case of emergencies... BUT I only like the green and clear ones... what can I say, I love the color and taste combination of one green and one clear... well when Brandon found this out, he came up with this invention of a green bear witha clear head... genius I tell you...

Kahuku Cheer Off!!

So, I know Brandon does not want me to post this...but I think it is fascinating!! My sister asked me if I wanted to go to the high school cheer contest, and I was less than excited.. (sorry Tiffani) But, being curious I went... and it turned out to be way different than I could have ever expected. They do not have a cheer squad, instead the different grades cheer off against each other.... and everyone is invited to cheer... as you can see both boys and girls do it... They have to do the cheer on the bleachers, and follow the following rules: 1. They can have one drummer 2. they can have one cheer leader (as you can see in the front).
The contest is such a big deal around here, they hold it at the college!

see the drummer!!
See how many people cheer!
Go team!!
huge fans!

Turtle Power

This is when the turtle winked at me!!!

Kitsap lake on a summer night

Tyler and I never had our wakeboard tour "summer of sin 2005"(you can thank real life and rising gas prices on that) but we did go 4 or 5 times a week. This is the video of one night taken from a digital camera but it still immortalizes the moment.
