Jane Milani

A little update on our very funny very smart Jane.  She decided the day that Grandpa showed up that she could swim in the deep end all on her own, she says cute things like she is getting 'food dehydrated' when she's hungry, and loves to spontaneously burst out in song as if her life is a musicle, complete with dancing.  Jane has what I think one would call an imaginary friend named Guilty (a name that I am baffled how she came up with on her own).  Guilty lives in the mirror and looks just like Jane and likes many of the same things Jane likes.  Jane also likes to pretened its Freaky Friday everyday of the week, where she claims to have switched bodies mostly with her mom but sometimes Nolan.  Jane also likes to pretend she is Ashley and Ashley is Jane.  The funny thing is when she yells at 'Jane' she is actually upset with things that the real Jane ctually did.  This projecting not only involves reporting on all the bad things she has done, it also involves critiques in fashion and movie tastes.  The funniest parts is where our house turns into the set of a Soap Opera every other morning when she wakes up and comes into our room to yell at 'Jane' for sleeping with her husband.  Never a dull moment while this girl is awake.

Nolan Taj

Out little Man Cub goes by many names thanks in part to his big sister who adore him with all her heart:
Chubber Knuckles
Chubber Bubber
Tajie Wajie
Blue Taj
Stinky Taj
Noles Bowls
Noley Boley
are just a few on an ever growing list.  Nolan is, if you couldn't tell from the pictures above developping quite the personality and loving having his long lost grandma around.  Grandma and Grandpa have spoiled this guy with toys, clothes and most importantly attention, something he has problems with from day 1 since his sister is a self proclaimed 'Pop Star' who demands so much undivided attention. Due to this Nolan suffers from what I call Attention Deficit, which is quite common in children with sibblings that love living in the spotlight. Despite the sleep deprivation, sore muscles from lugging this Chub, and the aweful sounds that eminate from this guys noise hole I think we'll keep him.

Camana Bay!!

We love love love Camana Bay!! Every wednesday we go to story time which was originally at Book and books, the cute bookstore here, but it has gotten so popular that they moved it to the movie theater, so they do 3 songs and 3 books, all which are projected on the big screen... it is super fun. Jane has been dying to go to a movie, so that is a bonus... after storytime we go play in the fountains, they have two fountains, a small fountain that is shaded that the little ones play in, and big ones, which on wednesday and saturday they bring out these huge carts full of giant foam blocks and they can play with in the fountain, it is super fun for the kids... they also have a farmers market that on wednesday, so we met up with Aubrey and Ayla, a friend from church and her daughter and hung out for about 4 hours!! It was super fun, we then came home and had lunch, and then jane's friend Allie and her family invited us to play in the fountains and have a dinner picnic, so we walked back. Jane told Nolan that she went with him to play with his friend Ayla (she is 10 months) so he had to go back with her to play with Allie and Nora Ruth... too cute..

Life is a beach, play in the sand we love our new home in GRAND CAYMAN

We have been on the island for 11 days and had time to settle in and upload a few pictures of our new island home.  I have never felt so welcome to a new unfamiliar place as I did when we arrived.  We had a welcoming committee of 3 members from the local branch who greeted us off the airplane helped move all our bags to our apartment, helped us get a rental car and took us to the grocery store before the holiday (New Years day).  That same night we were loaned 2 cell phones and introduced to the missionaries, who are doing an awesome job here.  That morning when we awoke all jet lagged we even had a member drop off a fresh loaf of home made bread.  We spent our first few days looking at every availible apartment around and by accident we found the place we ended up signing a lease.  We feel so lucky to be living right on Seven Mile beach within walking distance of school.  Jane and Nolan can't get enough of the water, they hit the pool and beach multiple times a day, which is a big feat considering Ashley does it by herself since I am in school from 7AM-5PM every day.
