Introducing the newest member of the Family

No its not a gummy bear its another little bundle of nauseating goodness its a baby boy and what a boy! I know the Dr. said that was the umbilical cord but I'm not buying it. This was taken at about ten weeks and now we're going on 13. Ashley has been Pukey McGee pretty much the whole time but we're hoping she's turning the corner on this whole morning sickness thing so she can start getting chubby like a good pregnant woman. We're exited to be having our first baby in Hawaii , the due date is March 28th.

Update!!!

It has been FOREVER since I (Ashley) has blogged anything...so I thought it was time for a little update on what has been happening in the life of Frandsen in the last couple of months....

First off, CONGRATULATIONS ALICIA!!!!! She graduated in June, she was always the smart one in the family!!! Alicia started school in Idaho but was too cold so she finished up her last two years in Hawaii!! She graduated in Elementary Education because the ninos are her heart.


This is lil 'ol me on my Birthday!! As you can see my friend Alysha (not to be confused with the blood Alicia) decorated my car and so much more on my birthday!! thanks to everyone who made it such a special and not so scary 25th birthday!!!
Do I dare post a beach picture?? YES I DO!! this is my tribute to my parents visit to Hawaii!!!! they came for Alicia's graduation and stayed and played for a few weeks!! I miss them already.... this was us at Hanauma Bay... My dad was so burnt at the end of the day... (sorry dad!!)
And last but not least, on August 17 Brandon and I celebrated our 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!! It went by so fast!!!! It has been the best year I am thankful to be married to such a wonderful guy who bends of backwards for me, esp. as of late.... I love you so much Brandon you are the best!!!!

Clowns

Yesterday Ashley volunteered me to be a clown at our friend's kid's birthday. I have always been a little frightened of clowns and I wasn't too thrilled about doing it but I dutifully dawned a goofy outfit complete with wig cowboy hat and honking nose. This turned out to be a big mistake the children were all scared of me and it took a little while for me to regain the trust of my adorable little 2 year old friend Lillia even after i took off the costume. That's when I was wondering when was the last time I thought a clown was funny? The only clown I thought was funny was Homey The Clown, and that doesn't count because although he is dressed as a clown "Homey don't play that!" he was in fact the ultimate anti-clown. So if the only funny clown is one that hates clown things and beats kids with a stuffed sock we can safely say that the era of the clown is gone. scary.

4th of JULY!!! my kind of holiday

we spent the 4th of july attending the festivities at Scholfield army Barracks(we figured those army folks would know how to celebrate the all american holiday) Billy Ray Cyrus played a concert, they had this cool army band/history of america thing which was made entertaining with the aid of about 5 artillery cannons. To cap off a god night they had the biggest pirotechnic masterpiece (those military guys sure do know how to blow things up.) All in all GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

A good read in honor of the 4th of July

After returning from 2 year mission in Argentina where I recieved more persecution for America's sake than for the church's , I was ready to join the military mostly because I wanted to defend my country but at the same time I would be lying if a secondary motive of mine was to spite those home and abroad who loath us. To make a long story straight my dad told me to do college thing before I committed to anything and then I got married to Ashley who is against her husband purposefuly going into harms way. So needless to say, I have to find another outlet to show my patriotism.
Anyways back to the real purpose of this blog. If you're tired of the media putting as much objectivity into the upcoming elections as they do with American idol, this book is for you. If your blood boils by how ignorantly people in prominence along with the general public undermine our country and its culture, this book is for you. If you've ever wondered why it's considered taboo for you to show pride in your American culture as opposed to minority groups who are encouraged to be more proud of their foreign cultures than that of America to whom they should feel indebted to; this book is for you.
D'SOUZA the author of this book is a highly educated Indian (dot, not feather) immigrant who explains "What is so Great about America" (not just a clever title). Upon completing the book you will feel grateful to be an American and you'll get a new found respect for our culture while erasing the forced guilt that your teachers and media have heaped upon you, even before you understood what cultural diversity really was. In other words you'll know what sets America apart from all other nations. You'll understand why the some of the same people who hate America the most would immigrate here in a heartbeat given the opportunity was made available.

What's wrong with America?

I have purposefully refrained from bringing up my political views on this blog but with the 4th of July coming up I thought it was appropriate to indulge in a little ranting and raving and getting up on my soap box and throwing it down. If you don't like politics or hearing others point of view you can skip this one blog and I won't have hurt feelings I don't care if anyone even agrees with me, there is something therapeutic about sending my feelings out into cyberspace. Here are the top 5 things that have really chapped my goat this last year.

1.) Here in the temple view apartments many people show their pride for their home countries by putting their foreign flag on the outside of their doors or window, and I think that is great I have no problem with people showing pride in where they're from and they should because that is part of who they are, however when my buddy Nick was reprimanded by the apartment complex manager and forced to take his American flag down because it was deemed "offensive" and "disrespectful". This is utterly the most stupid contradictory thing I've heard in a long time. If you think the American flag is offensive or disrespectful why are you living here, and an many cases mooching off our government for sustenance.

2.) I don't know if anyone one else realizes this but the media keeps trying to tell us what we should be thinking. The so called "news" stations have ceased reporting news and instead replace the real news with these "expert" commentators who have a shared agenda. I know the war in the middle east isn't popular but the media doesn't help by only sharing stories when they are conveniently disappointing. No wonder the "average American" who's only education about the war consists of the little blips they've seen on CNN or occasional article in Newsweek think we should pull the troops out today. Its propaganda and I'm not buying it. When has Alecs Baldwin and Sean Penn's opinion mattered more than facts?

3.) How did it get so trendy to Hate America? I know the rest of the world does but within our own country, are you serious? Alec Baldwin I'm still waiting for you to get out of here and you can take your dismal disappointing Hollywood career and 2nd grade education with you!

4.) How did Barak Obama gain so much public favor? I don't hate him, I'm not even saying that there isn't a chance I'll vote for him. He's charismatic and a great orator, but at the same time he hasn't done anything! He has the motto "A change we can believe in" but I'm not seeing it. This sounds too much like the campaign platform of house democrats who promised change during the midterm elections and the media along with America just ate that up, but last time I checked almost two years have gone by and we're worse off now than we were then. Funny how that works out because the media really missed the mark on that one. I don't understand why it's OK to be hard on McCain but your a bigget for being hard on Obama (they are running for public office they both knew that would mean being under public scrutiny so it's OK if you criticize either one of them and if its because you want to be one of the 'good white people' don't worry statistically Obama will get more votes because he's black than people who won't because he is) McCain has to be flawless to even stand a chance angainst Obama seeing how the media is just ready to pounce him but Obama on the other hand is defended even when he's telling high school kids about his past drug use or his racially charged reverand (his former "spiritual advisor") with whom he spend 20 years in his congregation gets some of his sermons leaked, or the stupid things his wife says from a microphone in public gatherings. If McCain was involved in any of these shenanigans he would be put up there with people who eat their babies as far as public opinion is concerned. Google will even pull your blog if it is deemed anti-Obama.
All I want is a fair and balanced election for our new commander and chief, I want to know where the candidates stand on the issues and what their public record is sure knowing about their character would be nice too but I don't care what the celebrities think or what these so called political experts on TV's opinions are.

5.)I want an unbiased media and I'm not happy with the one which condemns a Republican government official for their infractions with the law but when its a Democrat somehow they drop off the word Democrat and just use the name of their position like governor or senator instead of Republican senator or republican governor. Half the time there isn't even any media coverage for the stupid things democrats say or do, here is one example.

If you haven't heard about the Massachusetts Democrat representative James Fagan going on a rant against child rape victims yet, its most likely because there was limited media coverage.
Here is what he said:
“Let me tell you why it’s so wrong, It’s so wrong because in these situations . . . that 6-year-old is going to sit in front of me, or somebody far worse than me and I’m going to rip them apart. I’m going to make sure that the rest of their life is ruined. That when they’re 8 years old they throw up; when they’re 12 years old, they won’t sleep. When they’re 19 years old they’ll have nightmares and they’ll never have a relationship with anybody. And that’s not because I’m a nice guy. That’s because when you’re in court, and you’re defending somebody’s liberty, and you’re facing a mandatory sentence of those draconian proportions, you have to do every single thing you can do on behalf of your client. That is your obligation as a trial lawyer.”

Happy Birthday Ashley!!

It was June 20th in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and eighty-three when Ashley Nichole Frandsen burst forth from the loins of her mother and into this world. Tomorrow (Friday) will commemorate the twenty fifth anniversary of that blessed day, of Ashley coming forth from the womb and into this world we all call home. Happy 25th Birthday birthday girl another year older and wiser and spiritual and adventurous, as well as beautiful

Brandon's sweet childhood memories....ahhhhh

With the INDIANA JONES movie coming to theatres I was caught up in some of my forgotten childhood memories, here are some of them I would like to share with you, don't judge me the bible says not to.

The BIG WHEEL: you were not a cool kid unless you rode one of these around the neighborhood. Unfortunately growing up in Lyman, Wyoming we were not blessed enough to a nice paved neighborhood so I usually drove "off road" style or in the house, either way what a way to roll! I hope somebody smart designs one of these bad boys for grown ups.

SAVED BY THE BELL: I don't know about any of you but I was sorely disappointed when I got into high school and it was nothing like Bayside. I did have some really cool friends but there was no "Max" to hang out after school and there was too much school for the amount of shenanigans Zach and the crew got into. If I could be anyone from TV I would be Zach Morris, without hesitation he had it all: Kelly Kapowski, every sport, cool house, giant cell phone, and he could weasel his was out of every predicament he found himself in especially with Mr. Belding

THE SMURFS: I don't understand how I know so much about these little Blue creatures, one time some of my friends were talking about them and the question came up, How Tall are They? and without a seconds hesitation I confidently blurted out, oh that's easy they're 3 apples high. Nobody believed me so I had them look it up and I was right. The Smurfs are so big too, even in the bottom of the world in Argentina children still know who the smurfs are, even if they are called PINTUFOS (don't ask me how a made up word has such bizzar translation. I am looking forward with much anticipation the SMURF movie I guarantee I'll be there.

BO JACKSON: Bo Jackson was my idol. The man played baseball and football and unlike Dion Sanders, he was good at both. Bo Jackson would run up the wall to take away homeruns and went 'loco' every time he struck out he would be so mad that he would break the bat over his knee or head. He also could throw on some football pads and mow over the defence while he was playing for the Raiders. The man was a legend one day and then he disappeared one day. I looked up what Bo is up to and he has a family and he cooks who would've known? I thought BO knew about football and baseball but he distinctly said "when it comes to cooking Bo knows Diddely"

WWF: back in the early 90's wrestling was way more simple, no WWE, NWO, WCW it was just the WWF and it had way better characters than the ones today. Posted above is possibly the best wrestler of all time the Ultimate Warrior that dude was bad but there was so much more don't even get me started. My bothers and I weren't really allowed to watch WWF because my mom was always trying to get us to stop fighting (there were 4 of us boys) and she didn't want us to acquire any of the "professional moves" found in the World Wrestling Federation. But we watched it anyways and yes we did try out some of the moves like the DDT and the Diamond cutter.

Nintendo: the game above is Ninja Gaiden the graphics weren't nearly as good as what the picture shows but I loved it anyways (our expectations were a lot lower back then) I also remember codes like: up, down, up, down, left, right, left, right, down, b, b , a start (or something like that you can correct me if I'm wrong) to get extra lives in 'Contra' who could forget how my favorite cartoon the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had not one but two great games, and the movie 'The Game Wizard" with Brett Savage from the "Wonder Years" takes his brother to the world championships of nintendo game playing where Mario 3 was unveiled along with the Game Glove. I could go on forever about things like having nightmares after playing Simon's Quest and everything else but I'll spare you.

NERF: Non-Expandable Recreational Foam. It was NERF or nothing! they were the proud making of the NERF Crossbow, the various guns, NEFF made weapons that it was all right to shoot at your brother. NERF was a status symbol as a child, it masculanized young boys all over America. The only down side was after time you had to pretend to shoot projectiles at people because all the 'Ammo' either 1.) got lost 2.) bot chewed up or broken by a dog or little sister. Having no ammo and pretending to shoot at your friends is the fake war equivalent to the 'Ghost man' on 1st in baseball.

GI JOE: Above "Snake Eyes" my favorite of the action figures. GI Joe is an all American Hero, perfect examples for young boys to emulate. They are patriotic they taught you valuable life lessons "an now you know, and knowing is half the battle" I could never love a human baby as much as I loved my GI Joes as a kid. I heard that there may be a GI Joe movie coming out sometime in the future and when it comes I'll be there front row center yelling YO JOE!

My Parents visit for SPRING BREAK !!

This last 4 days we managed to squeeze in about 10 days worth of family vacation. Friday they arrived in the afternoon we met Ashley at Ted's Bakery and we attended our ward temple night, Saturday we hit up Costco, Diamond Head, The Swap meet, Pearl Harbor, the rstaurant Phuket Thai, Matsumoto's shave ice, Sunset at Chun's reef and Ted" Bakery once again. Sunday we went to church and a photo sephari/ island tour where we went to Laie Point, Bakini Beach, Valley of the temples, Lanikai beach, and Electric Beach. Monday I got beat by my old man in racketball, we went to the temple ruins/ Waimea lokout, Dillingham Airfield, ate lunch in Haliewa and Jaimeson's, Matsumoto's, then Waimea beach. Tuesday we packed up went to Ted's Bakery one final time, walmart and at 11:40 in the morning to the airport.
The highlights of the trip we staying up late watching "juno" and "Lars and the Real girl" with my mom. Skydiving was amazing. It wasn't nearly as scarey as I imagined it being. I did have to pay the chubby tax for being 5 pounds over 200. I'm so glad I got to do it, it was one of the funnest things I've ever done in my life. I also became more of a FATBOY because we ate so much good food. Anyways it was great to hav visitors, we appreciated it so much and if you scroll down you can see some of my pictures of our little vacation at home.
