4th of July parade

We attended the Bainbridge Island 4th of July parade with the rest of the Van Aken Family

I don't know how she did it but Jane managed to sleep through most of the event even the noisy police cars and fire trucks. (She gets that from the Frandsen side of the family)

Ashley and I got to meet our nephew Jaden for the first time

The majesty of pyrotechnics

The 3rd of July we went to Liberty Bay's firework show which was pretty awesome, because it was fireworks at a place named Liberty

The 4th we had our own fireworks show. Basically all the money that was spent on mortars and other neat arial fireworks was eclipsed by the cheap yet child friendly fireworks Ashley picked out.

a berry good time

We recently went to Sequim with Dustin, Kristin, Tiffani and kids and had a blast picking our own strawberries and raspberries and eating some along the way.

Jane even helped

we were rather proud of our produce if you couldn't tell

our little monster is developing quite the personality

Jane is starting to develop into a little person. She is definitely a morning girl and that is when the majority of her happy pterodactyl talk comes out, as opposed to her baby profanity, which comes out the rest of the day especially at night when she's sleepy. She must be teething because she can be a little fuss monster and will bite on her hands till they are puffy and raw. Jane is starting to grab things, recognize when her mother is not holding her, and is constantly drooling. In the past 2 days she pooped on me twice once at church all over my one dress shirt I brought with me from Hawaii and the other was right before I left for work in the morning. Although she is a monster we sure love her and enjoy having her in our family (I guess we'll keep her).
She found a use for her headband. To keep the light out of her eyes during sweet sleepy bye.
She is always flashing people
and there is the dribble about to fall off her lip

the bouncy toy

Jane was so funny in this contraption. She just went in circles and tried walking to the kitchen but her socks were to slippery on the tile

The evolution of the 'scry

I thought kids loved it when you said "BOO!" but it seems to trigger Jane's signature Scream-Cry aka the "Skry" I may be a mean parent but it was too funny to not capture on camera
