Ok, so it really isn't for us.... thus the basis of my post!!! I am trying so hard to get in the Christmas Spirit... But is rough when you are still wearing shorts (even to work for that matter) and you are going to the beach on the weekends.... It just feels wrong to me... I swear it is even harder to get in the Spirit this year than last for some reason. This will be Brandon and I's Second "Christmas in Paradise" I only get Christmas and New Years Day off so we are stuck on the rock again.... could be worse I guess....So, all of you who are playing in the snow and drinking cocoa to stay warm.... I hate you....

hey! I need picts of your new hair! have brandon do some great candid photos and post em! I don't have tons of time right now - Steve just got back from Ranger School and we're trying to get ready for Christmas and MOVING. Ugh. Call me - or I'll call you when I get more than one minute so that we can chat. Love ya!
I feel your pain! it's been in the 80's here in GA so we're still in shorts and t-shirts too. I've been here almost 5 years and still have a hard time getting into the christmas spirit. Having ethan helps because we are working to get him more excited, thus helping us feel a little more christmasy, hang in there!
Okay, I'm thinking Mr. Brandon Claus needs to step it up a bit, that guy is crazy Christmas. I'm sure after his finals are over that he'll have some fun things up his sleeves; I LOVE the snow/sandman!! Adorable!! Hang in there we had same warm weather when I leave in California. One year I threatened to put sarah wrap on the windows so it could at least feel a little 'bleak'. I hope you're enjoying having Brandon back physically and mentally since school is over for a few weeks. Put him to work!!! He makes awesome peanut butter fudge, and pumpkin pie!
I haven't made these in forever, but they bring back fond memories of Reject Villa.
Cake Mix Bars
1 box cake mix, any flavor (chocolate of course)
2 eggs
1/3 c. oil
8 oz. pkg cream cheese, softened
1/3 c. sugar
1 c. chocolate chips, or other flavor
Mix cake mix (dry) with 1 egg (beaten) and oil until crumbly. Reserve 1 cup. Pat remaining mixture into ungreased 13x9 pan (I like a smaller pan so they are fatter). Bake for 15 minutes at 350. Beat cream cheese, sugar and 1 egg until light and smooth. (I burned up a few mixers until I figured out that if you soften it in the microwave it will mix well. But don't melt it; just heat at half power.) Stir in chocolate chips. Spread over baked layer. Sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Bake 15 minutes longer. Cool before cutting. Serve with vanilla ice cream. Delicious!
